The situation
A family-owned van and car hire company in the North East, close to invisible in local search. National chains with far bigger budgets took the bookings, and the site read like a brochure written for the owner rather than the customer.
What we did
- Rebuilt service pages around how people search for hire vehicles, not how the company described itself internally
- Added location targeting for the towns they served rather than one city radius
- Implemented FAQ schema to capture the question-style queries driving most of the volume
- Reworked pages to convert: clear pricing, availability and booking paths in place of brochure copy
The result
The company reached #1 for its core commercial terms. Click-through rate doubled, which matters more than the impression count: more impressions only mean you appeared more often, while double the click-through means the listing earned the click.
